Welfare Unit Hire for Construction Sites
A welfare unit is the complete on-site solution — combining toilet facilities, mess room, drying room, kitchen, and heating in a single self-contained unit. SaniHire’s welfare unit range covers towable models from 12ft to 20ft in both standard diesel and eco solar hybrid configurations, providing compliant facilities for teams of 5 to 16 people.
All our welfare units are towable, which means delivery is straightforward and cost-effective — no HIAB vehicle required. The hydraulic lowering system brings each unit to ground level and secures it in position in minutes. As your project develops, the unit can be repositioned without additional transport costs.
Standard Welfare Units
Our 12ft welfare unit provides facilities for up to 5 operatives and includes a mess room with kitchen and seating, separate drying room, chemical toilet, and silent 6 KVA integral generator. The 16ft model steps up to 10 people and is available in two layouts — standard mess room or with a private site manager’s office sectioned off. For larger crews of up to 16, the 20ft welfare unit includes a spacious canteen, separate office, toilet, and drying room.
Eco Solar Welfare Units
Our solar hybrid welfare units combine roof-mounted solar panels with an onboard 130Ah battery and diesel backup generator, delivering up to 80% savings in fuel consumption under typical UK operating conditions. The battery charges throughout the day, significantly reducing generator runtime, noise, and emissions — making these units the right choice for environmentally sensitive projects, noise-restricted sites, and clients with sustainability reporting requirements.
Eco solar models are available in 12ft, 16ft, and 20ft sizes, all with LED lighting, air-blown heating, hardwired appliances, USB charging, CO monitoring, and smoke detection as standard.
HSE Compliance
All SaniHire welfare units are designed to meet current HSE requirements for construction site welfare facilities, covering toilet provision, washing facilities, rest areas, changing facilities, and drinking water. Our units have received top marks from HSE during site inspections. Minimum hire is four weeks.
